CONDITIONS OF SERVICE The salary scales and other conditions of service for staff recruited from overseas are: Salary scales.—Senior Lecturer: 1220 x 40-1500 Malayan dollars p.m. Lecturer: M 750 x 35-960/1030 x 35-1100 x 40-1380 dollars p.m. Assistant Lecturer: MOOS x 25-705 dollars p.m. (One Malayan dollar equals 2s 4d approx, at present.) The point of entry will depend on qualifications and merit. Variable allowance: 35 per cent of salary subject to a maximum of Ml5O dollars p.m. for a single officer; M2BO dollars p.m. for a married officer, and M4OO dollars p.m. for an officer with dependent chlld/chlldren. Overseats allowance: M2OO dollars p.m. for all staff recruited from overseas. Provident Fund: Contributions are payable at the rate of 5 per cent of basic salary from a staff member and 15 per cent from the Polytechnic. Medical benefits: Medical attention and treatment of staff member and his family, including hospitalisation. Passages: Return passages at Polytechnic's expense for the appointee, his wife anc up to three dependent children below 16 years of age. Leave benefits: Contract leave of 12 weeks on expiry of threeyear contract. For contracts of five years and three months. 12 weeks’ paid leave at the midpoint of contract and 12 weeks on the expiry of the contract. In addition, local leave of two weeks per year.
