GRANT FOR TRAVEL
Wellington Accountant The Incorporated Institute of Accountants has awarded its 17th travelling scholarship to Mr T. H. L. Davies, of Wellington. The scholarship, worth £250 each year, is tenable for two years and is awarded to enable the successful applicant to obtain additional accountancy experience in the offices of leading practitioners overseas. Mr Davies, aged 24, was educated at Nelson College and Victoria University of Wellington, where he graduated bachelor of commerce
and qualified for admission to the institute and to the Society of Accountants. Mr Davies is secretary and treasurer of the Wellington Gliding Club. He will leave for London next week to join the office of Messrs Deloitte, Plender, Griffiths and Company, chartered accountants. Mr Davies’s’ father, Mr G. H. L. Davies, was the first New Zealand accountancy travelling scholar. He was awarded the institute’s scholarship in 1935 nad spent two years in the offices of Messrs Deloitte, Plender, Griffiths and Company.
