Motor Show Contest
A’ COMPETITION for New "■ Zealand-made cars is to be held in conjunction with the international motor show in Christchurch on January 18, 19 and 20, at the time of the Lady Wigram Trophy race. Cars eligible for the contest must have bodywork entirely made in New Zealand, and a chassis that has been built in New Zealand or, if imported, sufficiently modified to be classed as a source of components or raw materials only. Cars imported in kit form are not eligible. The competition will be in two classes, for single-seater racing cars, and for road cars having two or more seats and in full road trim. The first prize in each class is £l5 and a trophy, and the second prize is £lO. Entries close on January 13, and conditions are
available from the motor show organisers at P.O. Box 488, Christchurch. Judging will be based on general appearance, quality of workmanship, layout of mechanical components, cockpit layout, and practicability of the design.
