CAN’T MISS.—A soldier could not fail to score a bullseye every time with this testing equipment in the 25-yard indoor range at the Royal New Zealand Electrical and Mechanical Engineers’ armament and general workshops at Trentham Camp. The workshops carry out repairs to every type of weapon used in the Army, and small arms are fired from the fixed test-bench to ensure that they are accurate before being returned to units. Sergeant-major G. Collins is demonstrating the use of the test-bench to two National Servicemen trainee armourers, Craftsman I. Pottinger, of Christchurch (left) and Craftsman T. R. Upjohn, of Nae Nae. Because the range is completely enclosed ear-muffs must be worn during firing.
