Market Remains Buoyant On Lower Turn-over
The share market remained buoyant on New Zealand exchanges yesterday. There were twice as many rises as falls, and some good gains were made. The overseas list improved. Turn-over was average.
Frozen meats continued the recovery. Canterbury firmed 6d to 14s 6d, N.Z. Refrigerating gained 3d to 14s and the notes 2s to 13s 3d. Manthel Holdings rose Is 6d to 21s 6d; B.HJP. regained Is 3d to 50s 6d. Associated British Cables at 19s 2d sold 5d up. Most downward moves were narrow, but Cyclone, at 8s 6d, lost lOd. Losses of Id were made by Kaiapoi at 4s sd, Dominion Breweries, at 16s 3d, and Pye, at 8s 9d. N.Z. Forest Products lost 2d to 21s 6d and South British Insurance lost 3d to 30s.
