Keeping The Guinea
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 1. The Aberdeen Angus Cattle Breeders’ Council has decided to press for the retention of the guinea in auctions of stud animals. Australian farmers lost money when they adopted the system of selling in dollars, the council said. The council said that if bidding were retained in guineas, a guinea equaling two dollars, 10 cents, it would be just as easy to convert from the guinea to dollars as it has been to convert from the guinea to the pound. Ten cents would then be the normal stock and station agents’ fee.
