The market failed to show any significant trend, and was virtually unchanged on the Stock Exchange yesterday. The mining section lost ground slightly. The food, drink and tobacco section of the market was a shade firmer. Turnover of 646.000, including 136,000 mining, was average.

T. Totara Lift Turn-over

The directors of the Taupo Totara Timber Company report that turn-over for the year to September 30 has increased and profit is comparable to that of the corresponding period of last year. An interim dividend of 5 per cent is declared, payable on February 17. Last year interim was 5 per cent, total 12J per cent. Books close February 3 to February 19 inclusive; ex dividend February 4.
