TEACHERS ' TROTH

Several hundred teachers graduating from the Christchurch Teachers’ College this month at ceremonies in Christchurch, Greymouth, and Timaru will affirm the following teachers’ troth:— Now as I take up my duties I promise: To honour and respect all children as my fellows, and to work for their good, with

all my heart, my strength and my mind. To seek the best that is known and thought, so that 1 teach what is of value, in a way that leads children to full, serviceable and joyous living. To live as nobly as I can, so that I may be seen to be worthy of my country's trust in me, as a teacher of its children.
