Joint Warfare Courses
Four Australians, who will teach joint warfare technique to men of the New Zealand Army and the Royal New Zealand Air Force, arrived at Wisram yesterday. The group comprises Wing Commander J. E. Gerber, senior directing staff, Royal Australian Air Force: Lieu-tenant-Colonel J. C. F. Moloney, Senior Directing Staff, Royal Australian Infantry; Squadron Leader J. C. Murrav, an instructor of the R.AA.F. and Major E. C. Beacroft, also an instructor from the R.A.I.
Colonel Moloney said yesterday that the team lectured on such aspects of joint warfare as offensive support, air transport and helicopter operations. To observe such action at first hand members of the Air Support Unit at R.A.A.F. Williamstown, New South Wales, had already visited Borneo and Vietnam, said Colonel Moloney. The party, the first to come to the Dominion from Australia to lecture on this particular aspect of warfare, has already conducted courses at Ohakea and at the R.N.Z.A.F. Staff College. They will remain at Wigram until Saturday when they .will return to Whenuapai for a further course. The party will return to Australia on December 10.
