REGISTERED NURSES

Membership drives during October had been outstandingly successful, resulting in 128 new members, including 19 non-practising members, 106 practising members, and three associate members, the president of the Canterbury branch of the Registered Nurses’ Association (Miss D. Newman) told the annual meeting. Total membership of the branch was now between 650 and 670, said Miss Newman.

Officers elected were:— President, Miss Newman; vicepresidents, Misses B. Brankin, P. Ryan; council members, Sister M. Olliver, Mrs K. King, Misses K. Bland, M. Darby, M. Smith, M. M. Parry, J. L. Nicholl, P. Caukwell, G. N. Gerard, F. Tonkin.
