Taxi Fares

The increases in taxi fares in Christchurch city granted to the Canterbury branch of the Taxi Proprietors’ Federation recently were the first since October, 1953, though there was a slight adjustment to fares in 1957, Mr B. O. Morgan, a spokesman for the branch, said.

He was commenting on a report published in “The Press” on November 19, which gave the date of the last review of fares as October, 1963.
