Uniformed Men In Plain Cars

WELLINGTON, Nov. 23

The Minister of Transport (Mr McAlpine) denied today that plain-clothes traffic officers would operate over the Christmas holiday period. “There are no plain-clothes traffic officers operating on New Zealand’s roads," he said. “We have plain cars manned by traffic officers in uniform and these will continue Io patrol the highways in addition to the regular traffic force.”
