INCREASED WAGES
Concrete Workers Increases of 4jd in the hourly rates and about 15s in the weekly minimum wage rates of concrete and pumice goods workers have been awarded by the Court of Arbitration. The award, applicable to workers in Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson, Westland and Canterbury, is retrospective to October 27. Minimum weekly rates of wages for youths have been increased by 10s. A new clause provides three weeks’ holidays for workers who have been with the same employer for 10 years.
