Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov 18 There was another rise «f three farthings per lb in prices for the main grade pf New Zealand lainb at London's Smithfield market, reports the market information service of the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board. The price has taken a sharp rise of one and a half pence per lb in the last two weeks. Small quantities of New Zealand hoggets and wethers sold slowly with the main grade of hoggets (49/50 lb> quoted at 15|d to 16d per lb and wethers at 15d to 15|d per lb. Ewes and New Zealand Beef were not quoted.

T. Totara Lifts Interest Rates

AUCKLAND. November 18. Long-term interest rates for the £250,000 debenture issue by Taupo Totara Timber Company Ltd., have been raised above those announced in September, the prospectus shows.
The rate for 10 years is now 7 per cent. Instead of 6? while the 7 per cent 15 year stock will he issued at £99 to yield 7.108 per cent. The 5 year interest rate remains at 6* per cent.
