Record In Darts

Although handicapped by the loss of one of its members at the threequarter stage, an eightman team from the Christchurch Central Darts Club broke a world darts record on Saturday by completing a 1,000,000 point marathon in 41hr Bmin. The former world record, also set by a Christchurch team was 46hr 43min.

The team began its attempt at midnight on Thursday and reached its target soon after 5 p.m. on Saturday. The members of the team were T. Ringdhyl, B. Coe, G. Smith, I. Bailey, F. Dench, H. Smith, J. Butcher and K. Smith, who withdrew from the arena at six o’clock on Saturday morning.
