Mother Gaoled Nine Months

NAPIER, Nov. 11. A 35-year-old Napier mother, Ramari Ariw Castel, was gaoled for nine months when she appeared before Mr Justice McGregor in the Supreme Court at Napier today for sentence on a charge of having failed to provide the necessaries of life for her daughter. Her 35-year-old husband, Norman Castel, tru<*k driver, who had been jointly charged, was gaolen for two months. The couple had been charged that between June 16 and August 1, 1966, being parents of Yvonne Brenda Castel, they omitted without lawful excuse to provide the necessaries of life, endangering the child’s life.
