Award Made To Reid
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON.
The New Zealand Cricket Council last evening paid high tribute to a former New Zealand cricket captain. J. R. Reid, who retired from first-class cricket last year, received a presentation from the council at its annual meeting.
The president of the council, Mr J. Newman, paid his tribute to Reid as a player, captain, and selector. “He preached and played the gospie of positive attacking cricket,” said Mr Newman.
“He will be remembered for tiie soaring six, the flying stump, the diving catch.”
