PICTURES OF MOON

Study By Russians (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) MOSCOW, Nov. 6. Russia’s space scientists are still tracking the moon-orbit-ing Luna XII, but have finished taking pictures of the rocky lunar surface, the Soviet newspaper “Izvestia” revealed last night. “Izvestia” said the pictures taken by the sputnik were radioed quickly back for scientists to select the more interesting ones. These were then beamed from the spacecraft in more detail to Russia’s secret space communications centre.

The newspaper said apparatus aboard Luna XII was still studying radiation and the flow of micro-meteorites in near-lunar space.
