SUBMARINE OFF REEF

The American su* marine U.S.S. Tiru was towed free from a reef off the north Queensland coast this afternoon, where is ran aground last Thursday. The Brisbane tug, Carlock, pulled the Tiru off Frederick reef at high tide without much trouble, Australian naval sources reported. The reef is in the Coral Sea. 330 miles north-east of Mackay. Divers inspected the Tiru and reported that they could see no substantial damage.
