Feiramor Fit For C.J.C. Handicap

On recent form and present fitness Feiramor should make a favourable first impression at the CJ.C. meeting when he runs in the Jockey Club Handicap at Riccarton tomorrow*.

The Masterton-trained chestnut sprinted fast in the hands of J. T. Anderson on the trial grass at Riccarton yesterday. He was holding a half-length lead over Balmarls (H. N. Ran. hihi) after running half a mile in 48 4-ssec.

Middy made a dashing gallop over six furlongs yesterday—he recorded Imin 14sec—and this deepened the mystery of why he ran so badly in the Stewards' Handicap on Saturday. Middy is probably a lot better at seven furlongs than at six, and his smart sprint yesterday in the hands of his race rider, J. A. Messent, left the impression that he was still improving. Sir Limond and El Beka were two of the more impressive over seven furlongs. They were on terms clear of Barcape after running Imin 2Ssec, the last four in 49 4-ssec. Sir Limond may take beating if he gets firm footing tomorrow.

Gold Show eV, with K. Aitken up, had the better of the weights In her gallop with Mukupai IF. H. Skelton), but she still did well to beat the good northern mlier by half a length over seven furlongs. They recorded Imin 28 4-ssec, and 51 4-ssec for the last four. STRONG RUN General Gilbert (B. Ropiha) and Last Count (E. J. Didham) kept up a strong gallop to the end of seven furlongs, recording Imin 28 3-ssec for the distance after dashing over the opening three in 36 2-ssec.

Chiave d’Ore (K. Aitken), whose sixth in the Riccarton Handicap was promising, showed she had retained her fitness with a half-mile in 48 2-ssec.

Idle Chatter (R. K. Moir) showed sharp speed for a hack in sprinting six furlongs in Imin 14 4-sscc, the last half mile In 50 3-ssec.

Idle Chatter is a lightly-raced Blueskin II gelding with a fair bit of ability. Command Performance (Moir) and Tixall (P. J. Silver) shaped well for hacks in running seven furlongs in Imin 29 l-ssec, the last four in 52sec. Other gallops: GRASS Mile. —Young Baron clear of Dipmate and Hamaden, Imin 46 2-ssec. Seven furlongs.—Marlborough, Imin 32 3-ssec. Half-mile.—Winscombe 49 4-5;

Running Scared 50 SJ: Jester Jinks 51 4-ssec; Disciple neck to Grey Satin 51 4-ssec; Segundo and Red Bank 50 l-ssec: Faradav and Chanti 49sec: Fair Gap clear of Pretentious and Rural 49 2-ssec: Winnie's Giri and Doctor Snoddv 50sec; Voler 49 3-ssec Three furlongs.—Lady Lodge two lengths to Tahu Koura, 36 4-ssec. PLOUGH Seven furlongs —Ginger Bread and Carolina. Imin 32 l-ssec. Three furlongs.—Catapult and New Mint 36 4-ssec; Far Cry 36 4-ssec.
