Old Girls’ Reunion

Mrs J. N. Matson was elected president of the St. Margaret’s College Old Girls’ Association at the annual meeting last evening. Before the meeting a reunion dinner was held, attended by more than 140 members of the association. Presentations were made to Mrs E. A. Lee. the retiring president, and to Mesdames F. S. Penman and B. K. Wagner, retiring committee members.

During the reunion weekend a service of the Holy Communion was held at the school chapel on Saturday morning, attended by staff members, prefects and old girls of the school. The annual tennis match for the Betty Thomas Memorial Cup, which was to have been played on Saturday afternoon, was postponed because of bad weather to November 19.

Officers elected are: Patron, Miss M. Mullan; president, Mrs J. N. Matson, vicepresidents, Mesdames L. H. Scott, R. M. Collins, P. G. Egden; secretary, Mrs M. H. Logan; treasurer, Mrs J. K. Lawrence; committee, Mesdames P. F. Marples, J. F. Bum, J. Botting, P. Alexander, Misses M. Cook, J. Young, S, Thomson: country representatives, Mrs R. L. Thompson (Rangiora), Mrs N. McIlraith (Ellesmere); Armagh Circle convener, Mrs A. H. Johnstone; assistant convener, Mrs G. Rich.
