Davis Cup Win Against Brazil

(N.Z.P.A -Reuter—Copyright) PORTO ALEGRE (Sthn. Brazil). The United States took a 21 lead over Brazil in the Davis Cup tennis inter-zone semi-final. The American pair, D. Ralston and A. Ashe, beat E. Mandarine and T. Koch (Brazil), 7-5, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2, in their doubles match.

Brazil and the United States have each won one singles match.

Ministry Advocated.— The failure of a New Zealand Government to establish a Ministry of Sport was criticised by Mr B. C. Simpson, the chairman of the Auckland Swimming Centre, at the sixtieth anniversary dinner of his organisation.
