PAYMENT TO CHAIRMAN
Increase In Paparua
Mr D. H. Warren, chairman for the last six months, was re-elected at the annual meeting of the Paparua County Council last night. Cr. H. W. Bennett was re-elected dep-uty-chairman.
Cr. W. L. Ragg moved that the chairman’s honorarium be raised to the legal maximum of £lOOO, but this was opposed by Mr Warren. On a show of hands, the council raised the payment from its present £750 to £lOOO. Council committees were elected as follows:—Town planning, full council; stock water, Crs. J. V. Barclay, L. P Manion, A. Y. Shuker, and Mr Warren; rural district, Crs. Barclay, L. J. Cutler, C. W. A. Kyle, Manion, R. S. Mayer, Shuker and Mr Warren; reserves, Crs. Barclay, H. W. Bennett, E. C. Britnell, Cutler, Kyle, Ragg, Shuker, and A. T. Stevenson.
