Park Building Approved

The first stage of development at Denton Park by constructing changing rooms, lavatories, a shop and a ticket box was approved in principle by the Paparua County Council last night.

Plans have been drawn up for the park to be developed in various stages, eventually to provide an open stand, a roofed stand and club rooms.

The County Engineer (Mr A. Dyhberg) said that the first stage work would cost about £B7OO, although a rough estimate given by the architects; was £14,000. He said that the first-stage work could be paid for by £4OOO from the council’s land subdivision fund, £2OOO from the Hornby amenity fund and

It was reported that the Halswell County Council had agreed to pay its share of the reconstruction of Mid-Lincoln road, and that agreement was awaited on the City Council section. A tentative programme to spend £38,750 on rural roads was approved, subiect to confirmation when Toads Board grants are known.
