SHEETMETAL WORKERS

New Certificates Scheme The Trades Certification Board will introduce a scheme with the Engineering Union and the Engineering and Related Industries Association to issue trade certificates to sheetmetal tradesmen so that such tradesmen need not pass the trade certificate examination. Sheetmetal tradesmen who are aged at least 26 on December 31, 1966, and have completed apprenticeships or had five years’ approved trade experience in New Zealand may receive trade certificates. Tradesmen who completed apprenticeships or training courses before courses and examinations for trade certificates were introduced may now apply for the certificates. Applications for the certificates will be accepted until December 31, 1967.
