Head Teachers’ Pay Increase (N Z. Press Association» WELLINGTON. Nov. 3. A new method of assessing the salaries of head teachers of district high schools was announced tonight by the Minister of Education (Mr Kinsella) at an election meeting at Ngatea. Those affected were teachers responsible for both primary and secondary departments. They now received the salary of a primary school head teacher, plus a sum proportionate to the roll of the schools’ secondary departments. Under the new scheme head teachers would get £l2O to £lB5 for secondary rolls of 12 to 50 (previously £B7), £155 to £250 for rolls of 51 to 150 (130), and £2OO to £3lO for rolls of more than 150 (£184). The new rales would be retrospective to April 1. 1964.
