Opening Today

Mr J. Acland, of Mount Peel, Peel Forest, who is chairman of the New Zealand Wool Board, will be the guest speaker and will officially open National Mortgage’s new woolstore at Woolston at a ceremony beginning at 2.45 p.m. today. The only other speaker will be Mr J. M. Ritchie, managing director of the company. Mr M. I. Ritchie, the Christchurch branch manager, will preside. The official party will include Mr and Mrs Acland, Mr N. E. Kirk, M.P. for Lyttelton, and Mrs Kirk, Mr G. Manning, the Mayor of Christchurch, Mr J. S. Scott, deputy-chairman of the Heathcote County Council

representing the county chairman, and Mrs Scott, Mr J. S. Fletcher, representing the contractors, and Mrs Fletcher, Mr J. K. Collins, representing the architects, and Mrs Collins, Mr and Mrs J. M. Ritchie, Mr and Mrs M. I. Ritchie and Mr L. B. Allan, assistant manager for National Mortgage in Christchurch, and Mrs Allan. Later in the afternoon demonstrations will be given of the new presses, mechanical hoists and wool trucks which are a feature of the equipment in the new store. Guests attending the opening ceremony are advised that the entrance to the parking area will be off Kennedy place, which is off Opawa road.
