3. R. Broadhurst, the Russley golfer who was the leading qualifier in the New Zealand amateur championship in September, is now on a plus one handicap. Broadhurst’s rehandicapping was calculated on his fine performance in recent weeks. In the best 10 of his last 25 rounds that he has played. Broadhurst has been 19 under par. His best round was the four-under-par 69 that helped him lead the amateur qualifiers with a score of 143. A fortnight later he carded 70 and 72 at Kaiapoi, and he 'ollowed this with suboar rounds of 71 and 72 at Russley.
