At present concerned with university examinations. J. Martin, who had been placed top of the preliminary men s tennis ranking list was beaten by W. Edgecumbe in this week’s series at Wilding Park. The matches were the first on the grass.

Next week the selectors will meet to discuss adjustments to the ladders and it is thought there may be other players who have yet to join the lists. In the women’s matches. Miss S. Field had her second good win. On the first night she beat Miss C. Andrew and this week she beat Miss R. Legge. Results were:—
