ATTACK ON WARDER
Wanganui police early this morning were seeking two young prisoners who escaped from the Wanganui prison at 10.15 p.m. last night after a warder had been assaulted with a steel bar, the Press Association reported. The prison officer, William George Old, was rushed to Wanganui Hospital, suffering from scalp lacerations, and his condition this morning was described as satisfactory. The escaped prisoners are Rex lan Wysocki, aged 17, and Ronald Graham Cairns, aged 19.
