Second Body Found
Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. Oct. 10.
The body of William Alan Smith, aged 33, of Queenstown, was found near the east hank of Lake Roxburgh about 4 p in. on Sunday. Mr Smith was lost in the Kawarau Gorge after the jet boat he was piloting drifted into treacherous waters, broke up and sank on July 31. The body was identified at an inquest held in Roxburgh today.
A Roxburgh man, Mr E. Kerr, was fishing on the lake when he saw the body, which was recovered on Sunday evening. It was about 65 miles from where Mr Smith was last seen in the Kawarau river more than two months ago.
It was the second body to be found in the Clutha river during the week-end.
