Trust Increases Whisky Price
(N.Z. Press Association* INVERCARGILL. Sept. 29. The price of whisky over Invercargill bars will be increased from Is 4d to Is 6d on October 3. the Invercargill Licensing Trust decided today.
“I don’t think the increase in price is warranted.” said Mr G. F. M. Stewart. “A more suitable date for an increase would be October 3, 1967."
Mr T. J. Breayley said the increase to Is 6d was justifiable and it would be a mistake for the trust not to bring the price “into line with reality.”
Gift To Museum.—The first K class steam locomotive in New Zealand has been given to the Auckland Museum of Transport and Technology by the Railwavs Department.— (P.A.)
