AWARDS TO ENGINEERS

The winning papers in the Templin Scroll competition for students at the School of Engineering, University of Canterbury, were presented at a meeting of the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Institution of Engineers.

Mr P. G. Cashin won the Templin Scroll for the best written and presented paper. His subject was “Ship mooring —an analogue analysis.” The Templin Prize for the best written paper went jointly to Mr C. J. Chaston, for a paper on developments of the two-stroke engine, and to Mr G. L. Thomson, whose paper was on the Manapouri tailrace tunnel construction methods.
