REVENUE UP AGAIN

Toll revenue, tonnages and goods tolls in August were all the highest since the tunnel was opened, Mr L. H. Wilson, the general manager, reported to the ChristchurchLyttelton Road Tunnel Authority yesterday. Vehicle tolls for August had, only been exceeded three times the first month the tunnel was opened, last December and in January. Vehicle tolls amounted to £13,454 and goods tolls were £5051. In August of last year the corresponding figures were £10,646 and £3017. The two and a half millionth vehicle went through' the toll lanes on August 29.
