Chch. Crowds More Biased?

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Lancaster Park Rugby crowds are considerably more biased than spectators were at the Commonwealth Games in Jamaica last month, according to the manager of the New Zealand fencing team at the games, Mr B P. Hampton. Mr Hampton told last evening’s council meeting of the Nev' Zealand Olympic and British Empire Games Association that the crowd was no different from a critical New Zealand one. “I heard reports that they were racial and one-eyed, but crowds only cheered for their own side the same as other countries do,” Mr Hampton said. “I have been to football matches at Lancaster Park which would make anything that might have happened at Jamaica seem like a kindergarten.”
