'Inadvertent Intrusion’

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) WASHINGTON, September 19. The United States announced today that some American aircraft might have inadvertently intruded over China twice this month, but it denied Peking’s charges that villages had been attacked. The State Department said any such inadvertent intrusion was regretted. The department spokesman, Mr Robert McCloskey, said he was unable to say how many United States planes were involved, how far they might have intruded over China or for how long. The United States statement was made after charges by Peking that American fighters intruded on September 9 and September 17 and attacked Chinese villages.
