Three Deaths By Vehicles
There were three deaths at the week-end which were the result of motor vehicle accidents, the Press Association reports.
A man was caught and crushed under the machine he was driving at the Martinborough mill of Jones Timber Company. He was Wayne William Bonis, aged 18, single, son of Mr and Mrs W. Bonis, Panama street, Martinborough. A man in hospital for 15 months from injuries he received in a motor accident in June, 1965, died in Cornwall Hospital, Auckland, at the week-end. He was Ngakapa Popata, aged 46, of Cowell place, Onehunga. A young woman was fatally injured when the car in which she was a passenger crashed into a powerpole on the Cam-bridge-Hamilton road in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The woman died In the Waikato Hospital last night. Hamilton police are withholding her name until relatives
have been notified. The accident occurred near the St. Peter’s school, about 2.20 a.m.
Mr R. E. Saxton, who was also in the car, had extensive cuts to his hands.
