Skeleton Not Yet Identified

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 19. Police are still trying to ascertain the identity of the human skeleton found in the ruins of a car off the end of Orakei wharf earlier this month.

Missing persons* records are being checked through the country but a 1936 Chevrolet has so far not been connected with a disappearance. Senior-Sergeant D. R. Bradley, of the wharf police, said today there was a chance the bones were those of a person not reported as missing. It might be necessary to make another underwater search off the wharf, possibly with the help of suction equipment, to find further clues.

A pathological report has disclosed that the body was probably that of a middle-aged

European male. His height was estimated at between sft Bjin and sft Ilin. A dentist has completed a chart of the teeth which have two gold fillings, one more noticeable than the other, in the front.

Mekong Rises.—South Vietnam’s navigation board said today that the rising waters of the Mekong river had approached the danger level in some delta provinces at the week-end. A spokesman said the waters were .continuing to rise by up to 2)in a day.— Saigon, September 19.
