FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A trough of low pressure is moving slowly eastwards across New Zealand. Forecast: Marlborough and Nelson.—North to northwest winds; rain easing during the morning; fair periods developing, with showers chiefly about the hills; moderate temperatures. Canterbury.—Partly cloudy; showers In the high country; a cool south-westerly change with scattered showers spreading from the south during the day. Buller and Westland.—West or south-west winds, fresh in some exposed places; changeable, with showers becoming cooler. Outlook; all districts: mainly fair. CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
