Mr C. E. Nairn, of Waipawa. Hawse’s Bay, was elected president of the New Zealand Aberdeen Angus Cattle Breeders’ Association at Dannevirke tonight. Mr J. B. Hickman, of Blenheim, was elected vicepresident.
Mr H. W. Revell was yesterday elected chairman of the New Zealand Industries Fair committee of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association, and Mr C. W. Mace, chairman of the finance and house committee. Mr John Muir has been appointed a member of the Tinwald Domain Board. He replaces Mr J. H, H. Scott, who has died.
Messrs J. McG. Inglis, J. T. Hill, B. H. McGlashen, J. E. Oldham, und R. T. Eggers have been elected producers’ representatives on the Hop Marketing Committee. Mr P. T. Norman, general manager of Thomas Borthwick and Sons (A’asia), Ltd., is in Australia inspecting freezing works in Victoria. He will discuss the possibility of his company exporting further supplies of New Zealand lamb to the Australian market. The company last year supplied prime Canterbury lamb to the Sydney market by both air and sea. Cr. 11. E. Denton has been reappointed the City Council’s representative on the Canterbury Provincial Patriotic Council.
