ROSEHILL GUINEAS

Garcon Is Favourite (Special Crspdt. N.Z P.A ) SYDNEY. Four New Zealand-bred three-year-olds will meet at Rosehill today in a full-scale rehearsal for the £16,000 A.J.C. Derby, to be run on October 1. The four. Garcon, Matarlki, General Command, and Shakedown, head the betting in a tight pre-post market for the 10furlong Rosehill Guineas. The guineas will be the first major staying test of the season for Sydney’s top three-year-olds and is regarded as an important guide to the A.J.C. Derby and the Caulfield Cup. Garcon, which has won his last six races, is the 2/1 favourite in the early market.
