REBUILDING URGED

Naval Radio Base

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 16. The Navy League wants the Naval radio station H.M.N.Z.S. Irirangi, near Waiouru, to be rebuilt.

The league passed a remit urging its Dominion council to make representations to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defence on the rebuilding. Surgeon-Commander E. L. Gillies said buildings at the base were falling down. “There is nothing worse for recruiting for the Navy than this,” he said. Irirangi is the Navy’s main radio base.
