Compensation To Shell
(N.$.P. A.-Reuter —Copyright? CAIRO, Sept. 15. The United Arab Republic and the Shell Oil Company have signed an agreement whereby Shell will be paid £EI2 million compensation for its nationalisation two years ago. Details of the agreement were not immediately made public, but a republican decree issued last month authorised the N.A.S.R. Petroleum Company to surrogate the Shell group of companies in the U.A.R.
According to the decree, the agreement stipulates that compensation will be paid over eight years and guaranteed by the Central Bank of Egypt.
