Can Shift Houses

It should be made clear to the District Commissioner of Works (Mr D. B. Dallas) that there were plenty of contractors in Christchurch capable of moving houses affected by the planned northern motorway, said Mr J. B. Curline, a house-moving contractor, yesterday. He said Mr Dallas appeared to doubt whether there were contractors in the city capble of tackling such a job. There were eight such contractors. All had house-shift-ing machinery, and several' had large articulated vehicles.
