Cheese Rules Delayed
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) CANBERRA, Sept. 15. Australia has deferred for six months its new quarantine rules on imported cheese. The Minister for Health (Dr. James Forbes) announced this tonight. A number of representations had been made on behalf of countries which exported cheese to Australia and it was now Heap that some time would be needed to arrange a workable system of certification, he said. Such a system would have to guarantee that only cheese made from pasturised milk was imported, and yet at the same time allow exporting countries to meet Australian quarantine requirements.
