Decision On 1974 Site
The question of whether Christchurch or Auckland should be the venue nominated In New Zealand's next application for the Commonwealth Games should be resohed as quickly as possible, said Mr J. H. Johnson at a meeting of the management committee of the Canterbury Swimming Centre last evening. “I hope shots are being fired In that direction right now.” he said. “We want to knock Auckland out of the running before it gets started." If the New Zealand association made an early decision on the venue, Christchurch could make a good start in Its planning for 1974, he said.
