Prime Ministers’ Conference

Sir, —The remarks of Mr Kirk in trying to discredit the usefulness of Mr Holyoake’s attendence at the conference of Commonwealth Prime Ministers brings to my mind part of a verse I read as a boy. “Poor souls with stunted vision often measure giants by their narrow gauge.” Perhaps some time in the distant future Mr Kirk may represent New Zealand at such a conference and if so, and he is as successful as the statesman he now criticises, New Zealand will have no cause to complain.—Yours, etc. E.R. September 13, 1966.
