Canty Women Win Golf
The annual women's golf match between Canterbury and South Canterbury for the Templar Trophy was played in Ashburton yesterday in ideal conditions, and resulted in a win for Canterbury by 141 games to 9i. Detailed results, with Canterbury names first, were: Morning Round. —Miss M. Ensor lost to Miss B. Stafford. 2 and 1: Miss S. Grigg halved with Mrs D. B. Hayman: Mrs J. Lees lost to Miss M. Mackay. 2 down; Miss C. Sullivan beat Mrs T. G. Lister, 6 and 4: Mrs A. I. Charles lost to Miss B. Langley, 1 down; Miss B. Doag beat Miss R. M. Reilly. 7 and 5: Miss S. Thompson lost to Miss B. A. Taylor, 1 down: Miss M. Boyce beat Mrs G. K. Campbell, 3 and 2; Miss S. Reeve beat Mrs T. Davidson, 2 and 1; Miss M. Doherty halved with Miss I. Walker; Miss V. Stocks lost to Mrs R. J. Paterson, 1 down; Miss S. Bissett beat Mrs H. Dyer, 8 and 6. Afternoon Round.—Miss Grigg beat Miss Stafford, 4 and 2; Miss M. Ensor beat Mrs Hayman, 1 up; Miss Sullivan beat Miss Mackay, 2 up; Mrs Lees lost to Mrs Lister, 3 and 1; Miss Boag lost to Miss Langley, 2 down; Mrs Charles beat Miss Reilly, 2 and 1; Miss M.
