Leisure-Time Booklet
A leisure time booklet, arranged by the Canterbury Youth Council, with the names and addresses of about 200 youth organisations in Canterbury and the names of clubs and activities associated with each organisation, will be published early in February.
At the bi-monthly meeting of the council Mr J. Currie (representing the Methodist Youth Movement) said that a Christchurch printing firm had undertaken to print 50,000 copies of the booklet for the council. The booklet has been divided into 21 categories, and will contain information on such activities as indoor and outdoor sports, arts and crafts, students’ associations, and organisations for handicapped people. The council had originally planned to have a small explanation of each activity mentioned, said Mr Currie, As space had been limited they had been unable to do so. He hoped that in future editions an explanation would be included.
