ISSUE OF W.O.F.

Yaldhurst Garage On List

The Yaldhurst garage will join the list of other garages in Belfast, Templeton and Prebbleton to be suggested as those to be exempted from the cancellation of authorities to issue warrants of fitness after the new* Sockburn testing station comes into use.

Cr. E. C. Britnell, amplifying a statement he made at the council’s monthly meeting on Monday night, said that the Yaldhurst garage should be permitted to issue warrants for a further 12 months, with a review at the end of that period, in a similar manner to the Templeton and Prebbleton garages.

He also advocated that the issue of warrants by garages in the inner areas of the county should cease on December 31 rather than January 31 in the interests of the revenue of the testing station, which is expected to open early in December.
